Las reacciones de adición se pueden organizar sobre la base del proceso que sigue a la reacción inicial de un radical centrado en carbono con un enlace múltiple para formar un radical aducto. Para un radical aducto que lo rastrea comenzando de nuevo a un compuesto de O- tiocarbonilo, las reacciones adicionales observadas incluyen la abstracción de átomos y la eliminación de radicales. El capítulo 18 contiene una discusión más general sobre las reacciones de adición radical, una que se centra más en el compuesto al que se está produciendo la adición que en el precursor radical.
