    Como libro de texto introductorio para estudiantes de trabajo social que estudian métodos de investigación, este libro guía a los estudiantes a través del proceso de creación de un proyecto de investigación. Los estudiantes aprenderán a descubrir un tema investigable que les resulte interesante, examinar la literatura académica, formular una pregunta de investigación adecuada, diseñar un estudio cuantitativo o cualitativo para responder a su pregunta, llevar a cabo el diseño, interpretar resultados cuantitativos o cualitativos, y difundir sus hallazgos a una variedad de audiencias. Se extraen ejemplos de la práctica y experiencia de investigación del autor, así como artículos de actualidad de la literatura. El libro de texto está alineado con la Política Educativa y Normas de Acreditación 2015 del Consejo de Educación en Trabajo Social.
