Los cursos de laboratorio pueden ser mágicos.Pueden ser experiencias esclarecedoras que te abren los ojos a un panorama general. Una experiencia de laboratorio debe trabajar en conjunto con un curso de conferencia, y darse cuenta plenamente de conceptos, técnicas y reacciones de las que haya oído hablar. Desafortunadamente, también pueden ser experiencias desalentadoras. Uno de los factores clave que dicta qué experiencia vas a tener, es la preparación.
Un aspecto gratificante de un experimento bien preparado es que puede cimentar firmemente la información que has obtenido al estudiar de una manera que es muy superior a simplemente leer sobre ella. Tu conocimiento evoluciona más allá de la memorización rutinaria a la comprensión real, porque has visto la reacción y los principios con tus propios ojos. No se debe subestimar la sinergia entre un curso de conferencia y un componente de laboratorio.
