La inmunología es una rama de la biología que abarca el estudio de los sistemas inmunes en todos los organismos. La inmunología grafica, mide y contextualiza: el funcionamiento fisiológico del sistema inmune en estados de salud y enfermedades; mal funcionamiento del sistema inmune en trastornos inmunológicos (como enfermedades autoinmunes, hisensibilidades, inmunodeficiencia y rechazo de trasplantes); características químicas y fisiológicas de los componentes del sistema inmune in vitro, in situ e in vivo.
