Para los enteros positivos\(n\) tenemos la fórmula de Moivre:
\[(\cos (\theta) + i \sin (\theta))^n = \cos (n \theta) + i \sin (n \theta)\]

Esta es una consecuencia simple de la fórmula de Euler:
\((\cos (\theta) + i \sin (\theta))^n = (e^{i \theta})^n = e^{i n \theta} = \cos (n \theta) + i \sin (n \theta)\)
La razón por la que este simple hecho tiene nombre es que históricamente de Moivre lo afirmó antes de que se conociera la fórmula de Euler. Sin la fórmula de Euler no hay una prueba tan simple.
