    Introduction Chemistry Online es un libro de texto/libro de trabajo de química introductoria de código abierto que está diseñado para cubrir un curso de un semestre de nivel universitario. Muchos libros de texto contemporáneos en química parecen haber adoptado la noción de que “más es mejor”; los libros son largos, caros, y las páginas suelen estar abarrotadas de interesantes cositas y reexpresiones de lo que es lo que acabas de “aprender”. El texto de Chemistry Online, en el otro extremo, está diseñado para ser simple, claro y muy al grano.
